Dr. Thomas E. Dillon, president of Thomas Aquinas College, was killed yesterday morning in a car accident in Ireland.
According to a statement posted on the Thomas Aquinas College website, Dr. Dillon was traveling with his wife Terri on college business. Mrs. Dillon was only slightly injured but was hospitalized following the accident.
Dr. Dillon had served as the president of Thomas Aquinas College, which is located in Santa Paula, California, since 1991. He joined the college’s faculty as a professor in 1972, a year after its founding, and subsequently served as assistant dean for student affairs and as academic dean until his appointment as president in 1991.
The college has requested prayers for the happy repose of Dr. Dillon’s soul and for the consolation of his family.
