Benedict’s Intervention

The big news at the Synod of Bishops is yesterday’s unscheduled contribution from Pope Benedict XVI.

The Pope addressed the need to balance historical analysis of Bible texts with the tradition of the Church in order to understand Scripture properly.

Basilian Father Thomas Rosica, who is serving as the synod’s English-language press attaché, discusses the Holy Father’s remarks here.
