Craven For the Cure: Komen Caves To Pro-Abort Pressure

It was nice while it lasted, all of four days.  A very well known charity dropped support for the abortion industry.  Yay. Pro-lifers cheer and donate money in record amounts (purportedly doubling donations after the announcement).

Cue the MSM and Planned Parenthood owned politician outrage and the the well known charity reverses course. Four measly days!  Hey guess what, donating breast cancer money to a company that causes breast cancer and does not perform mammograms is a really good idea after all.

This is the height of politically correct groveling.

Our only goal for our granting process is to support women and families in the fight against breast cancer . Amending our criteria will ensure that politics has no place in our grant process. We will continue to fund existing grants, including those of Planned Parenthood, and preserve their eligibility to apply for future grants, while maintaining the ability of our affiliates to make funding decisions that meet the needs of their communities.

This is one of the most politically craven public acts I have ever seen.  Four days of pressure.  Donations were up, but alas, we want to be popular too!

I dare them to say how this will help women suffering from breast cancer.  I for one have never donated to them.  I considered it the other day but didn’t because they are not a well run charity.  I am so glad I didn’t.

Now, if Komen does not immediately return the money of anyone who donated in the last four days, I think that the organization that should be under criminal investigation is Komen.  Then I will donate my money to finding a cure for cowardice.

Update: Some have tried to suggest that Komen’s statement is nuanced and does not necessarily mean what almost everyone thinks it means.  Hogwash. Bottom line.  4 days ago PP was ineligible for future grants, now they are eligible, with apologies.  Will PP get future grants from Komen? Almost certainly.  If it looks like a cave, deep, dark, and cold.  It is probably a cave.
