Palin on Media Bias

In this video, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin reflects on what she says was a powerful mainstream media bias against her candidacy for vice-president.

Palin rips into reporters for repeating factually unfounded claims circulated in the blogosphere that she’s not the real mother of her infant son Trig.

And Palin, who was described by many mainstream media commentators as being woefully underprepared for the vice-presidency, suggests a class bias may be part of the reason why political neophyte Caroline Kennedy is not enduring equally harsh criticism as she lobbies to be appointed to fill the Senate seat in New York vacated by Hillary Clinton.

This Daily Blog post in November offered another, related explanation for the media’s anti-Palin perspective — journalistic hostility to Palin’s strongly pro-life views.

Overall, Palin says, there’s little doubt she would have received much better treatment had she been selected as Barack Obama’s running mate instead of as John McCain’s.

“There’s so much hypocrisy in it all, it’s pretty baffling,” Palin remarks. “But yeah, had I been chosen to run perhaps as a reformer on the Democrat ticket, you would have seen an absolutely different and I think, if you will, a much prettier profile of Sarah Palin and the Palin family and my administration.”
