No-Good Rotten Blue-Dog Dastard To Retire

Everybody remembers the pro-life treachery in the House of Bart Stupak.  Stupak sold babies into government funded death with his last minute support of Obamacare.  His name, like Benedict Arnold before him, quickly became synonymous with his dastardly deed.  So reviled was he, that he announced his retirement soon after.

Well, Stupak’s doppelganger in the Senate, the other no-good rotten dastard in the whole sordid affair Ben Nelson has announced that he will retire rather than face his very deserved electoral comeuppance.

Senator Ben Nelson is the same guy who swore up and down that he would stand firm against abortion funding in the healthcare bill only to suffer the world’s most watched moral collapse (until Stupak’s) when he received the infamous “Cornhusker Kickback.”

Even people who supported the awful Obamacare bill saw this moral prostitution for what it was and the “Cornhusker Kickback” became symbolic of everything corrupt in Washington. The deal was so unpopular that in the end they had to grant it to all the states. So in the end Nelson got zippo for selling out the unborn. Nada.

So the two most prominent fake pro-life Democrats (Sorry, redundant) who cut deals and reneged on their promises not to support abortion in the bill, were both forced to retire rather than face re-election.

Along with the Susan B. Anthony List (aka the Mighty Hand of Vengeance) defeat 15 of its 20 targeted self-described “pro-life” Democrats who voted for the pro-abortion health care bill as part of its “Votes Have Consequences” project, this represents almost clean sweep of the no-good dastards.

Never again will we have to fall for the false allure of Blue Dog Democrats coming to the pro-life rescue.  They were shown for what they were and they are mostly gone now.  Good riddance, bad rubbish, and all that.

Now we can focus our efforts on pro-life Republican treachery and any pro-life Republican who thinks about selling out should remember Bart Stupak, Ben Nelson, Rep. Brad Ellsworth (IN-SEN); Rep. Steve Driehaus (OH-01); Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (PA-03); Alan Mollohan (Primary defeat, WV-01); Baron Hill (IN-09); Paul Kanjorski (PA-11); John Salazar (CO-03); Jim Oberstar (MN-08); Bob Etheridge (NC-02); John Boccieri (OH-16); Chris Carney (PA-10); John Spratt (SC-05); Ciro Rodriguez (TX-23); and Charlie Wilson (OH-06).

Votes sometimes really do have consequences, remember that.
