Obama’s Infomercial Omissions

The above video was produced by CatholicVote.com and was made available for viewing last month.

It is intended to remind Catholic voters of the priorities that the U.S. bishops have said should form their consciences as they prepare to cast their ballots — with life and family issues topping the list.

The video names no candidates. But yesterday CatholicVote.com, which is a project of the Fidelis Center for Law & Policy, released this memo, which is embedded at the end of this post.

The memo details specific areas where Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama departs from Church teaching on the sanctity of life and the definition of marriage. Not surprisingly, these discrepancies weren’t among the things the Obama campaign chose to highlight in last night’s prime-time infomercial.
