Archbishop Timothy Dolan held an impromptu press conference yesterday outside the doors of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.
Archbishop Dolan told reporters he had stopped by at the cathedral, where he will be installed tomorrow as the new archbishop of New York, for a “friendly visit” in advance of the big occasion.
“Thanks for coming, everybody — I just decided to make a friendly visit to St. Patrick’s,” Archbishop Dolan said to reporters. “I’d better get to know it well. Said some prayers, greeted the people, and I appreciate you all being here. You’re making me feel welcome for my first days in New York.”
