Congressman Endorses Indoctrination and Population Control

If I were to say to you that the government was indoctrinating our children in population control many would probably say Matt’s been taking his conspiracy theory pills again. But what would you say if a Democratic congressman actually said that he’d like to see children indoctrinated in population control.

CNS reports:

Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Md.) told CNSNews.com at a “Sustainability Education Summit” hosted by the U.S. Education Department on Tuesday that environmental education in schools can “promote the agenda” of climate change and population growth through the influence it has on children.

“Like I keep saying over and over again, if you get young people invested in those ideas early on, that will result in those kinds of positive policy developments,” Sarbanes told CNSNews.com. “So, whether it’s climate change, whether it’s population growth, whether it’s all these factors that impact the health of our world, raising that awareness early among young people is only going to promote the agenda.”

And he’s not the only one advocating a return to the good ol’ days when procreation was a top down decision and not left up entirely to the little people who were liable to pop out two, three, four, five or six kids or more. (Gasp!) They can’t just let the world go all Duggar on them, right?

Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren, along with Paul Ehrlich, wrote that “a program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier than trying to sterilize men. This of course would be feasible only in countries where the majority of births are medically assisted. Unfortunately such a program therefore is not practical for most less developed countries…The development of a long term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable with official permission for a limited number of births.”

So it should come as no surprise that the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) receives funding from the United States even though it’s been shown to be complicit in China’s coercive birth control policies. Yup. That means you’re paying for coerced abortions in China.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said:

Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion.

Nancy Pelosi said that cutting the number of children would prove to be an economic boon:

“Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.”

According to this logic, children cease to be gifts from God but economic burdens.

Hey, at least she didn’t call babies a punishment, right?

They’re telling us what they’re thinking, what they’re doing. We can pay attention or ignore it.
