Minority Leader John Boehner (R.-OH) said yesterday that Harry Knox, who serves on the president’s faith-based advisory council, should resign.
As you can see in the accompanying video, CNSNews.com asked Boehner whether he believed Knox should resign.
“He should resign. And I have agreed to sign a letter,” said Boehner. “We can’t have in the White House an anti-Catholic bigot, and that’s what this gentleman appears to be.”
It’s not Boehner’s first letter. Last May, Boehner signed a letter with nearly two dozen prominent Catholics calling on President Obama to remove Harry Knox from the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships because of his history of anti-Catholic statements.
Boehner’s response comes on the heels of Knox’s statement that Pope Benedict XVI is “hurting people in the name of Jesus,” because the Holy Father does not support the promotion of the use of condoms as a means to stop the spread of HIV.
Knox has a history of publicly criticizing the Church. Earlier, he described the Pope as a “discredited leader” and the Knights of Columbus as a “discredited army of oppression.” In 2007, he said that the Catholic Church had committed an act that was “immoral and insulting to Jesus,” by denying the Eucharist to a lesbian couple in Wyoming.

Just another example of this God-less administration in action.
What do you expect from a president who hates America? Obama is set to destroy our freedoms and our Christianity. He knows that the Catholic Church is his greatest obstable to a one world government that he wants.
It sadens me that this administration would appoint a hatefilled man like Harry Knox to be on a religious board. I would hope that Obama will ask this man to leave this board and only appoint people who have love and integrity to the board, not someone who is clearly an anti-Catholic, intolerant bigot. What is he thinking? This is just disgraceful to all, no matter what religion you might be.
Knox said: “immoral and insulting to Jesus,” by denying the Eucharist to a lesbian couple in Wyoming….
He’s speaking for Jesus???!?!!?!?!?! He discredits the Pope, and fancies to have a better grasp of Church teaching???? Based on what? What a wonderful example of hate speech.
The American people are waking up ! Obama and his administration has not fooled the American people. One nation under God forevermore!
Shame on Harry Knox and anyone who supports him. He is a disgrace to himself, his family, our country and our government. He must GO [from the Presidents faith based advisory Council] and the sooner the better.
Why should Harry Knox resign? For speaking the truth? Pope Benedict XVI should resign for his role is enabling and covering up pedophile priests!
Another person who should resign is Rep.(D)FLA. Alcee Hastings. Actually Alcee Hastings currently is in violation of laws which define the need for imprisonment.
Response to Brad: Your response is the typical scripted hate speech, is that your only tactic? Straight out of the GLTG handbook. If you do not agree with the teachings of the One Holy Catholic Church join someplace else there is no room your Anti-catholic speech here.
Brad, really???? is that the best you can offer? Please say something intelligent and thought provoking. I would really love to read one, just one comment from a Catholic bigot with a semblance of reasonable articulation and just one actual fact in their claims. Children abused, yes. Horrible with no excuse, period. However, to claim that this was covered up and enabled by the Pope! C’mon…. where is just one word of proof? (What your buddy said over his 3rd cup of Starbucks at 2AM doesn’t count) The burden of proof belongs with the accuser (except when it deals with Catholics… innuendo and crass remarks are usually enough). Please Brad, just one intelligent argument, one factual link to the Pope in your pitiful grasp at reality. Just one…. oh and by the way, be ready to back it up. I am worn out by you and your ilk of misguided, bigoted, hate-filled banter. I’m not angry anymore, just tired of the same wretched series of lies being thrown up at every forum discussing a Catholic issue. Not one thing original. Jeez.
