The secular world is over Christmas now. The shopping is over; the presents are unwrapped. The focus is now on New Year’s celebrations.

But we Christians get to really celebrate — for days! (The Christmas season in the Church includes Epiphany and the Baptism of the Lord.)

Our User’s Guide to Sunday has some good suggestions.

I am focusing on prayer, spending time with family — and more Christmas music (like Matt Maher’s “Silent Night” and Audrey Assad’s “O Come All Ye Faithful”).

Be sure to head to Danielle Bean’s recent posts about Christmas songs. Upcoming: “O Holy Night” (my favorite).

How are you celebrating?

Happy birthday, Jesus! And merry Christmas!

I try to celebrate year around, at least privately.  Yes, even in the dead of summer.

I love Christmas time and still have Christmas music playing in my home. We all still light whats left of our advent candles and sing one Carol before supper. Some of my favorite Christmas songs are the English carols like the Wexford Carol, Do they know its Christmas?, and Cold Play has a great new Christmas tune called Christmas Lights. Blakmore’s Night has a beautiful Chanukah song and a Carol called Christmas Eve that I like to play. Its usually close to Lent before I finally reorganize my iPod to store away this wonderful music.
