Actress Jennifer Lawrence Doesn't Seem to Like Conservative Christians

Academy award winning actress (I think?) Jennifer Lawrence had some not-so-nice things to say about conservative Christians. Not nice at all. I guess she has to make it clear to Hollywood that she's one of them by ranting about women's rights, gay marriage and mocking Christians. Mission accomplished Miss Lawrence. Congratulations, you're just like everyone else around you.

Yahoo.com:

"I was raised a Republican, but I just can't imagine supporting a party that doesn't support women's basic rights," Lawrence told Vogue... "It's 2015 and gay people can get married and we think that we've come so far, so, yay! But have we? I don't want to stay quiet about that stuff," Lawrence told Vogue.

Please stay quiet. The more you speak the less likely I am to see one of your movies. And it's not like I'm going to boycott her or something like that. It's just that when I see her on screen I'll be thinking about her mocking Christians. I'll think she wouldn't like me at all. I won't be able to suspend disbelief.

One of the occasions on which Van Meter met with Lawrence happened to coincide with the day Kim Davis was released from jail, on Sept. 8. The notorious Kentucky country clerk was detained after she refused to administer marriage licenses to same-sex couples despite the Supreme Court's June vote that ultimately legalized same-sex marriage across the United States. Lawrence said Davis was a "lady who makes me embarrassed to be from Kentucky." "Don't even say her name in this house, all those people holding their crucifixes, which may as well be pitchforks, thinking they're fighting the good fight," Lawrence told Vogue. "I grew up in Kentucky. I know how they are."

I know how they are? How are they exactly? What, they fall short of what they desire to be? Yeah, we all do that.

I happen to think that Kim Davis is pretty brave for standing up for what she believes, knowing she'll be persecuted, mocked, ridiculed, and jailed. I think she's a heck of a lot braver than an actress who espouses the same beliefs as everyone else around her.

And you've got to love how Lawrence employs a particularly nasty metaphor by comparing the crosses to pitchforks. Excuse me? Kim Davis (I'm not in Jennifer Lawrence's house so I can mention that name) gets elected to office and then the law changes and all she does is simply refuse to affix her name to a same-sex marriage license because of her religious beliefs. And for that, she's publicly excoriated, mocked on national television, ridiculed, and thrown in jail. Yet, Christians are the ones with pitchforks? Christians are displaying a mob mentality? I'm not seeing it.

Kim Davis has the guts to be not like everyone else. Jennifer Lawrence just joined the mob that uses Vogue as a pitchfork.
