Yes, this is one of the persons and these are the kids that, “Bernardin was convinced that, if the pro-life agenda was to move forward successfully, the other threats to the supreme value of life had to be linked in solid and informed fashion to the central task of opposing abortion.  A believing Catholic, in Bernardin’s judgment, must promote life organically, preserving and enhancing threats to its sacred character.  Otherwise, the pro-life movement might seem distorted and could come under the control of the extreme right wing of anti-abortionist activists.  That would cripple its political appeal in the struggle for a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe v. Wade.  In addition, the task of raising the consciousness of the country about the values of life depend on an intelligent broadening and deepening of the basic philosophical and theological foundations of the pro-life position.” (The belief and thoughts of Cardinal Bernardin in the favorable biography by the same name written by his friend of 30 years, Eugene Kennedy).

Thus, “prolife” became “pro” hyphen “life” and Catholics, starting with the bishops, began learning that life is a “seamless garment” and began teaching - to REALLY be “prolife” we must respect every aspect of it “organically.”  So, “social justice” issues were now “pro-life.”  With this, most Catholic consciences were soothed in the comfort of knowing they could retain their wonderful life-long “feeling” and self-identity of being Democrats because Democrats “cared for the little people.”  And with this change in the definition of “prolife,” Bernardin handed the pro-abortion supporters their biggest victory since Roe v Wade – over half of the church-going Catholics resulting in Catholic politicians becoming bolder in their support of abortion as witnessed in the Senate hearings of Republican nominations to the U.S. Supreme Court starting with Judge Bork, and culminating with 55% of Catholics voting for the first Black president of the U.S. who is also just happens to be the first ever pro-abortion, pro-infanticide president.

Yep -  Bernardin and the U.S. bishops’ decision, to go along with him, on changing the definition of “prolife” some 27 years ago, certainly kept the prolife movement from falling completely “under the control of the extreme right wing of the anti-abortionist activists” like Joe Schnieder.  But did “saving it” from such “extremist” bring a HLA closer to reality?  When was the last time you even heard HLA mentioned in church?  I bet some of you don’t even know what it means.  Yes, more people say they are “pro-life” today, but Catholics registered in the pro-abortion party and voting for their parties’ candidates like Barak Obama, think they are “pro-life.”

51,000,000+ babies murdered and still counting, with no end in sight.  Don’t you think it’s about time the Church rethink what they did back there under Cardinal Bernardin’s leadership and admit that it was a mistake?  I knew it back then, when he and the bishops redefined “prolife,” that it was a mistake.  Time has proven me right, and Cardinal Bernardin and the entire Conference of Catholic Bishops, wrong.  I wish it was the other way around; I would love to be able to say I was wrong and the bishops were right.  Think they’d ever be able to say that?

As we strive to live out our catholic faith , we know from revelation : Sin preventing the knowledge of God’s will ( 1Samuel 14:36-38 ) ” And Saul said , Let us go down after the Philistines by night ,and spoil them untilnthe morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. and they said, Do whatsoever see meth good unto thee . Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God. And Saul counsel of God , Shall I go down after the Philidtines? Wilt thou deliver them into the hand of Israel ? The subject of Abortion being used as a platform for every single political agenda is gravely sinful because it leads the simple minds into absolutely error. The abortion topic is under the category of criminal laws under Biblical Law ( that will be Injury to a pregnant woman , Biblical Theology revealed from the book of Exodus 21:22-25 .And under the precept of criminal law Biblical law revealed : Individual Responsibility ( The criminal Himself , and No other ,Must answer for his crime ,Deiteronomy 24:16) Jesus solved the problem in reference to crimes against the person ( injury to a pregnant woman - Abortion ) Christ’s Law concerning the Murderous Spirit - The Gospel of Matthew 5:21-22. Christ’s Law of purity in thought - Gospel of Matthew 5:27-28 and lastly Christ’s Law of Non- Resistance - the gospel of Matthew 5:38-39
The proper use of the human reason would reduce our theological difficulties ninety per cent , our ecclesiastical machinery seventy percent and our political problems , national and international ,fifty percent. Oh, that men were wise, that they understood this, that they would Think . It has been well said that there are just to classes , those who think and those who only think they think .
