We’ve been asked if you can read the Register on Kindle. The answer: Of course!
Actually, we really like our feed. The Kindle option offers more than just a nice price: Register content automatically downloads to the device as it’s uploaded to NCRegister.com throughout the day. That means that you can stay up-to-date with breaking news, but also with informative features and incisive commentary — every original item from the website and most articles from the print newspaper — and the lively discussions you’ve come to expect from the Register’s spirited pool of bloggers.
We’ve been shooting for a mix of news and views that gives you much more value than most other Catholic news sources on Kindle, and yet won’t bog you down in information overload. We think it’s working: All the feedback we’ve received has been very positive.
Try it out! The Kindle edition comes with a 14-day free trial. Just click below for more details.

Does the on-line subscription work on the Apple iPad? I’ve asked the customer service dept several times and no one bothers to answer.
What about a version for Barnes & Noble’s Nook reader?
Thank you Archbishop Chaput, EWTN and the donor(s) who made this possible.. Indeed it shows the power of prayer—that we should never underestimate.
What a relief for many of us.. even up here in Canada.. that the NCR.. is keeping ‘its printing press running… Thank you ... we cannot afford to lose any real Catholic publication….
May God continue to strengthen Catholic media/pr/ networking everywhere..
Congrats to all .. esp and also to your excellent Advertising dept and its manager .. who does an awesome job..
I’m delighted the Register is still operating, and I would love to subscribe via the Kindle. However, some details about the Kindle subscription remain unclear:
First, if the Kindle subscription really does include “all web content and most print content,” then NCR needs to update the product description on Amazon. Right now, it just looks like a blog subscription—if a Kindle user shops for a subscription to NCR in the Kindle Store, the National Catholic Register only shows up in the “blog” category, not among newspapers. I tried the 14-day free subscription a few weeks ago, but since it was just the NCR blogs (which I read online from time to time), I decided it wasn’t worth subscribing.
Second, will the Kindle subscription include only online stories that are available to the general public, or other content that requires a subscription? I can’t afford a regular subscription right now, but I would take the Kindle subscription if it included content that is not already available for free.
Please clarify what is included in the Kindle content.
Love the paper. Are there plans to make it also avalible on the Barnes & Noble Nook?
Do you have an update on when this will be available on the Nook?
